(1) An environmental evaluation is an evaluation of an activity or event to
decide the source, cause or extent of environmental harm being caused, or the
extent of environmental harm likely to be caused, by the activity or event.
(2) Also, an environmental evaluation is an evaluation of contaminated land to
decide—
(a) the source, cause or extent of contamination of the land being
caused, or likely to be caused; and
(b) the need for—
(i) a site management
plan for the land; or
(ii) the land to be remediated; and
(c) the source,
cause or extent of any contamination to the surrounding land, or to the
environment, being caused, or likely to be caused, by the contamination of the
land; and
