Period for which short term approval has effect179 Period for which short term approval has effect
(1) An approval given by the chief executive under section 178 has effect for the period stated in the notice given to the relevant service provider under section 178 (5) .
(2) However, the period must not be more than 6 months.
(3) The approval ends if—(a) a guardian for a restrictive practice (general) matter for the adult gives, or refuses to give, consent to the relevant service provider to use the restrictive practice in relation to the adult; or(b) the tribunal gives a containment or seclusion approval for the adult.
