Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) If a police officer reasonably suspects a person is an aggrieved, it is the duty of the officer to investigate or cause to be investigated the complaint, report, or circumstance on which the officer's reasonable suspicion is based, until the officer is satisfied the suspicion is unfounded.
(2) If, after the investigation, the officer reasonably believes--
(a) the person is an aggrieved; and
(b) there is sufficient reason for the officer to take action;
the officer may--
(c) apply for a protection order to protect the aggrieved; and
(d) take other action that the officer is required or authorised to take by this Act.
