Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) A magistrate to whom application is made under section 54 may make a temporary protection order against the respondent if it appears to the magistrate that because of distance, time or other circumstance of the case, it is not practicable to apply to a court for a protection order and for it to be heard and decided quickly.
(2) The temporary protection order under subsection (1) may be in the same terms as if the magistrate were then and there constituting a Magistrates Court.
