DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE PROTECTION ACT 1989 - SECT 12

12 What is a spousal relationship and who is a spouse

(1) A spousal relationship exists between spouses.

(2) A spouse includes--

(a) a former spouse; and
(b) either 1 of the biological parents of a child.

(3) For subsection (2)(b), it is irrelevant whether there is or was any relationship between the biological parents of the child.
