(1) This part applies to a person (the
"insured person" ) who effects or renews general insurance or life insurance
with a person (the
"insurer" ) who is not registered under chapter 12 , part 1 or 2 .
(2)
However, this part does not apply to an insured person who has been charged,
by the insurer, an amount for insurance duty in relation to the premium for
the insurance.
