Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) Police officers have and may exercise in a council area and in respect of persons therein the functions, duties and powers imposed or conferred on them by law that they have and may exercise in any other part of Queensland.
(2) In respect of the discharge or exercise in a council area of any function, duty or power a police officer has the protection accorded by law to a police officer in the discharge or exercise of that function, duty or power elsewhere in Queensland.
(3) Police officers are authorised to perform such acts and so such things in a council area as may be authorised or required to be done by Island police officers under the by-laws of the Island council established for that area as if such by-laws were part of the law of Queensland.
(4) In respect of the performance in a council area of any act or thing referred to in subsection (3) a police officer has the protection accorded by law to a police officer in the discharge or exercise by the officer of the officer's functions, duties and powers elsewhere in Queensland.
