Obligations of family members and other persons to child’s parents
80 Obligations of family members and other persons to child’s parents
(1) If, under a child protection order for a child, a member of the child’s
family or another suitable person is granted custody or guardianship of the
child, the family member or person must—
(a) tell the parents where the
child is living; and
(b) give them information about the child’s care; and
(c) provide opportunity for contact between the child and the child’s
parents and appropriate members of the child’s family as often as is
appropriate in the circumstances.
(2) However, if the Childrens Court is
satisfied compliance with the requirements of subsection (1) would constitute
a significant risk to the safety of the child or anyone else with whom the
child is living, the court may order that all or part of the requirements do
not apply, or apply with stated modifications or apply to a stated extent.
