Extension of court assessment orders
49 Extension of court assessment orders
(1) An authorised officer may apply to the Childrens Court for an order to
extend the term of a court assessment order for not more than 4 weeks.
(2)
This part applies, with all necessary changes, to the application as if it
were an application for a court assessment order.
(3) The court may extend
the term of the order only if the court is satisfied— (a) the order has not
ended; and
(b) the extension is in the child’s best interests.
(4) A court
assessment order may not be extended more than once.
