Stay of operation of decisions
119 Stay of operation of decisions
(1) The appellate court may stay a decision appealed against to secure the
effectiveness of the appeal.
(2) A stay— (a) may be given on the reasonable
conditions the court considers appropriate; and
(b) operates for the period
fixed by the court; and
(c) may be revoked or amended by the court.
(3)
However, the period of a stay must not extend past the time when the court
decides the appeal.
(4) An appeal against a decision affects the decision, or
carrying out of the decision, only if the decision is stayed.
