(1) This section applies if, following a procedure to effect the sterilisation
of an individual, the individual gives birth to, or fathers, a child because
of the breach of duty of a person in advising about, or performing, the
procedure.
Examples of sterilisation procedures—
tubal ligation and
vasectomy
(2) A court can not award damages for economic loss arising out
of the costs ordinarily associated with rearing or maintaining a child.
