Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) A regulation under this part may make provision of a savings or transitional nature consequent on the commencement of the Code or of a provision of the Code.
(2) If the regulation so provides, it has effect despite any provision of the Code.
(3) Without limiting subsection (1), a regulation may be made under this section for or with respect to the following--
(a) permitting for a limited period or periods provisions requiring the payment or debiting of interest charges in advance under credit contracts or classes of credit contracts;
(b) permitting, subject to conditions, predetermined credit charges for a limited period or periods.
(4) A provision of a regulation made under this section may, if the regulation so provides, take effect from the day of assent to this Act or from a later day.
(5) To the extent to which a provision takes effect from a day earlier than the day of the regulation's notification in the gazette, the provision does not operate to the disadvantage of a person (other than the State or a State authority) by--
(a) decreasing the person's rights; or
(b) imposing liabilities on the person.
