BUILDING INDUSTRY FAIRNESS (SECURITY OF PAYMENT) ACT 2017 - SECT 123
Copy of notice of claim to contractor
(1) This section applies if a subcontractor gives a notice of claim to a
person obliged to pay money to a contractor under a contract.
(2) The
subcontractor must— (a) give the contractor a copy of the notice of claim;
and
(b) advise the contractor of the name and address of the person given the
notice of claim.
(3) If the subcontractor does not comply with subsection (2)
, the notice is of no effect and the subcontractor’s charge does not attach.
