Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) This section applies if the registrar registers the death of a child, other than a stillborn child.
(2) The registrar must give notice of the registration to--
(a) the commissioner; and
(b) the chief executive (child safety).
(3) The notice must include the following information, to the extent it is known to the registrar--
(a) for the notice to the commissioner--
(i) the registration number for the registration; and
(ii) the child's name; and
(iii) the child's place of birth; and
(iv) the child's usual place of residence; and
(v) the child's age; and
(vi) the child's sex; and
(vii) the child's occupation, if any;
(viii) the duration of the last illness, if any, had by the child; and
(ix) the date and place of death; and
(x) the cause of death;
(b) for the notice to the chief executive (child safety)--
(i) the child's name; and
(ii) the child's date and place of birth; and
(iii) the child's usual place of residence; and
(iv) the date and place of death; and
(v) the cause of death.
(4) To the extent that it is practicable to do so, the registrar must give the notice within 30 days after registering the death.
(5) In this section--
chief executive (child safety) means the chief executive of the department in which the Child Protection Act 1999 is administered.
