Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) Subject to this section, a person shall not, unless the person is a duly authorised officer, employee, or agent of the chief executive, conduct, or attempt to conduct, any negotiation, or make, or attempt to make, any arrangement with a parent or guardian of a child for or towards or with a view to the adoption of the child.
(2) Subsection (1) shall not be taken to refer to or include the preparation of an application under this Act for the adoption of a child, an expression of interest in being assessed as suitable to be a prospective adopter, or any arrangements made by or on behalf of a parent, guardian or relative of a child for the adoption of the child by a relative of the child.
