Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) As soon as practicable after an applicant's name is entered in an adoption list, the chief executive must make an assessment under section 13B about the applicant.
(2) If the applicant has made application to become an adoptive parent of a child of whom the applicant is a relative, the chief executive need not make the assessment until all consents necessary to the making of an adoption order for the child have been obtained or dispensed with or the chief executive has been notified as mentioned in section 25(2A).
(3) If an applicant has applied to become an adoptive parent of a special needs child, or a special needs child of a particular description, the chief executive need not make the assessment until a special needs child, or a special needs child of that particular description, requires an adoption placement.
