      LIQUOR AMENDMENT BILL 1993

                   EXPLANATORY NOTES

Short title
  Clause 1 Provides for this Act to be cited as the Liquor Amendment Act
1993.


Amended Act
  Clause 2 Provides that the Liquor Act 1992 is amended as set out in this
Act.


Amendment of Section 86 (Restriction on grant of club licence)
  Clause 3 Prohibits the granting of a club licence in relation to premises
that formerly comprised part of other licensed premises if the other licence
remains in force.


Amendment of Section 164 (Conduct causing public nuisance)
   Clause 4 Continues the operation of Section 164(2) (offence provision
relating to being drunk in a public place) until 30th June, 1994.


Amendment of Section 192 (Prohibition orders)
  Clause 5 Continues the operation of Section 192 (which empowers a
Council to make a prohibition order in relation to a resident in the Council's
community area) until 30th June, 1994.
