APPROPRIATION (PARLIAMENT) BILL
(No. 2) 1996
EXPLANATORY NOTES
An Appropriation Bill separate from the Appropriation Bill (No. 2) 1996
is provided for the Parliament. This Bill provides for appropriation for
1996-97, supplementary appropriation for 1995-96 to provide for
unforeseen expenses that occurred in that financial year, and initial
appropriation for 1997-98, anticipating the next Appropriation Bill to be
presented to Parliament in 1997.
Clause 1 provides for the short title of the Act.
Clause 2.(1) authorises the Treasurer to issue from the consolidated fund
and apply for the services of the Parliament, the sum of $39,109,000 in the
financial year commencing 1 July 1996.
Clause 2.(2) notes that this amount includes the appropriation already
authorised by the Appropriation (Parliament) Act 1996.
Clause 3 authorises the Treasurer to issue from the consolidated fund
and apply for the supplementary services of the Parliament, the sum of
$724,000 in the financial year commencing 1 July 1995.
Clause 4 authorises the Treasurer to issue from the consolidated fund
and apply for the services of the Parliament, the sum of $16,947,000 in the
financial year commencing 1 July 1997.
