Clause 1. This Act may be cited as the Valuation of Land Amendment Act 1994. 3

Clause 2. This Act is taken to have commenced on 26 March 1994. 5

Clause 3. This Act amends the Valuation of Land Act 1944. 7
of s 13BA (Alteration of valuation for rate adjustment 8

Clause 4. Section 13BA, as inserted by section 804 and Schedule of the Local 10
Government Act 1993-- 11

`Alteration of valuation for rate adjustment under Local Government 13
Act or City of Brisbane Act 14
`29A.(1) The chief executive may alter a valuation that was in force in the 15
previous financial year to enable a rate adjustment to be made under 16
section 622 (Rate levied for a period in which a change takes effect) of the 17
Local Government Act 1993 or section 70 (Levy of rate on alteration in 18
unimproved value etc.) of the City of Brisbane Act 1974. 19
`(2) However, the chief executive may decide not to alter a valuation 20
under subsection (1) if the chief executive is of the opinion, formed on 21
reasonable grounds, that the rate adjustment resulting from the valuation 22
alteration would be so small that making the alteration cannot be justified in 23
the circumstances.'. 24
