Clause 1. This Act may be cited as the Vegetation Management Amendment Act 3

(ii) remnant of concern regional ecosystems; and 1
(iii) remnant not of concern regional ecosystems; and 2
(iv) numbers that reference regional ecosystems; and 3
(v) declared areas of high nature conservation value; and 4
(vi) declared areas vulnerable to land degradation. 5
2. A "regional ecosystem map" includes any amendment to the map 6
included in a schedule to the map and certified by the chief 7
executive as an amendment to the map at the day the amendment 8
is certified. 9
"remnant map"-- 10
1. A "remnant map" means a map-- 11
(a) certified by the chief executive as a remnant map for a 12
particular area; and 13
(b) maintained by the department for the purpose of showing, 14
for the area-- 15
(i) areas of remnant vegetation; and 16
(ii) declared areas of high nature conservation value; and 17
(iii) declared areas vulnerable to land degradation. 18
2. A "remnant map" includes any amendment to the map included 19
in a schedule to the map and certified by the chief executive as an 20
amendment to the map at the day the amendment is certified. 21
"remnant not of concern regional ecosystem"-- 22
1. A "remnant not of concern regional ecosystem", for an area of 23
Queensland within a regional ecosystem map, means the part of a 24
not of concern regional ecosystem mapped as a remnant not of 25
concern regional ecosystem on the map. 26
2. A "remnant not of concern regional ecosystem", for an area of 27
Queensland for which there is no regional ecosystem map, means 28
the part of a not of concern regional ecosystem having vegetation, 29
forming the predominant canopy-- 30
(a) covering more than 50% of the undisturbed predominant 31
canopy; and 32

(b) averaging more than 70% of the vegetation's undisturbed 1
height; and 2
(c) composed of species characteristic of the vegetation's 3
undisturbed predominant canopy. 4
"remnant vegetation"-- 5
1. "Remnant vegetation", for an area of Queensland within a 6
regional ecosystem map, means the vegetation mapped as being 7
within remnant endangered regional ecosystems, remnant of 8
concern regional ecosystems and remnant not of concern regional 9
ecosystems shown on the map. 10
2. "Remnant vegetation", for an area of Queensland within a 11
remnant map, means the vegetation mapped as remnant 12
vegetation on the map. 13
3. "Remnant vegetation", for an area of Queensland for which there 14
is no regional ecosystem map or remnant map, means the 15
vegetation, part of which forms the predominant canopy of the 16
vegetation-- 17
(a) covering more than 50% of the undisturbed predominant 18
canopy; and 19
(b) averaging more than 70% of the vegetation's undisturbed 20
height; and 21
(c) composed of species characteristic of the vegetation's 22
undisturbed predominant canopy.'. 23
