1. This Act may be cited as the Sugar Industry Amendment Act (No. 2) 3

2. This Act amends the Sugar Industry Act 1991. 6
of s 9.3 (Corporation's general authority over 7

3. Section 9.3-- 9
insert-- 10
`(4) Without limiting subsection (3), a condition may-- 11
(a) prohibit a specified authorised transaction affecting the 12
assignment or any other purported dealing in the assignment; or 13
(b) prohibit a specified authorised transaction affecting the 14
assignment or any other purported dealing in the assignment 15
unless it complies with a specified condition. 16
`(5) A condition may provide for an exemption from a condition.'. 17
of s 9.5 (Guidelines for grant of assignment) 18

`(c) the conditions imposed, or that may be imposed, on the grant of 21
an assignment under section 9.4.'. 22

`14.31. To remove doubt, it is declared-- 5
(a) the Corporation always had power to impose a condition 6
mentioned in section 9.3(4) or (5) on the grant or variation of an 7
assignment; and 8
(d) the Sugar Industry (Assignment Grant) Guideline 1994 was valid 9
when made.'. 10
