Clause 1. This Act may be cited as the Racing and Betting Amendment Act 1995. 3

Clause 2. This Act amends the Racing and Betting Act 1980. 5

agreement with a person outside Queensland, including outside Australia, 23

`(2) The Totalisator Board may enter into the arrangement or 26

(a) only if the Minister approves of the arrangement or agreement; 2
and 3
(b) only on the terms the Minister decides. 4

`191A.(1) The Totalisator Board may enter into an arrangement or 6
agreement with a person outside Queensland, including outside Australia, to 7
amalgamate the net pool of any class of totalisator operated by the 8
Totalisator Board with a similar class of totalisator operated by the person. 9
`(2) The Totalisator Board may enter into the arrangement or 10
agreement-- 11
(a) only if the Minister approves of the arrangement or agreement; 12
and 13
(b) only on the terms the Minister decides.'. 14

Clause 8.(1) Section 221(4), (5) and (6)-- 16

`(4) On receiving a report specified in subsection (3), the Minister may 18
give the chief executive details of the convictions, the subject of the report. 19
`(5) The chief executive must then ask the person about whom the report 20
was made to give reasons why the licence the person holds under 21
subsection (3) should not be suspended. 22
`(6) The chief executive must suspend the licence held by the person, for 23
no longer than 2 years, if-- 24
(a) the person does not give reasons as required; or 25
(b) in the chief executive's opinion, the licence should be suspended 26
for another reason.'. 27
