The Parliament of Queensland enacts-- 1
Clause 1 Short title 2
This Act may be cited as the Major Sports Facilities 3
Amendment Act 2011. 4
Clause 2 Commencement 5
This Act commences, or is taken to have commenced, on 8 6
September 2011. 7
Clause 3 Act amended 8
This Act amends the Major Sports Facilities Act 2001. 9

`30AI Definitions for div 1 16
In this division-- 17
major sport event means a national or international sport 18
event that has a crowd size of more than 35000. 19
relevant development approval means the development 20
approval relating to the major sports facility called `Suncorp 21
Stadium' issued under the Integrated Planning Act 1997 on 6 22
July 2001 and continued as a development approval under the 23
Sustainable Planning Act 2009. 24

relevant development approval condition means condition 42 1
of the relevant development approval, a copy of which is set 2
out in schedule 1A. 3
`30AJ Application of div 1 4
This division applies to major sport events held between 1 5
January 2011 and 31 December 2011 at the major sports 6
facility called `Suncorp Stadium'. 7
`30AK Major sport events between 1 January 2011 and 31 8
December 2011 9
`(1) Subject to compliance with the conditions of the relevant 10
development approval, other than the relevant development 11
approval condition, the use of Suncorp Stadium for no more 12
than 24 major sport events between 1 January 2011 and 31 13
December 2011 is a lawful use of the facility. 14
`(2) Subsection (1) applies despite the relevant development 15
approval condition, the Sustainable Planning Act 2009, any 16
provision of the relevant planning scheme, any development 17
approval or compliance permit under that Act relating to the 18
facility and any condition attached to the approval or permit. 19
`(3) This section applies despite division 2. 20

prescribed by regulation. 26

This division applies to major sport events held at the major 2
sports facility called `Suncorp Stadium'. 3
`30AN Use of Suncorp Stadium for major sport events 4
`(1) Subject to compliance with the conditions of the relevant 5
development approval, other than the relevant development 6
approval condition, the use of Suncorp Stadium for no more 7
than 24 major sport events each year is a lawful use of the 8
facility. 9
`(2) Subsection (1) applies despite the relevant development 10

provision of the relevant planning scheme, any development 12
