`Review
`19B.(1) This section does not apply to the following decisions about 2
bail-- 3
(a) a decision by the Supreme Court; 4
(b) a decision under section 10(2);1 5
(c) a decision by a magistrate acting as a reviewing court under this 6
section. 7
`(2) If a decision has been made about bail for a defendant, the defendant, 8
complainant or prosecutor or a person appearing on behalf of the Crown 9
may apply to the reviewing court for a review of the decision. 10
`(3) The reviewing court is-- 11
(a) for a decision by a police officer or justice who is not a 12
magistrate--a Magistrates Court constituted by a magistrate; or 13
(b) for any other decision--the Supreme Court constituted by a 14
single judge. 15
`(4) A complainant, prosecutor or a person appearing on behalf of the 16
Crown who makes an application under subsection (2) must take 17
reasonable steps to inform the defendant of the time and place for the 18
hearing of the application. 19
`(5) The hearing may proceed in the defendant's absence, if the 20
reviewing court is satisfied the steps were taken. 21
`(6) On the review, additional or substitute evidence or information may 22
be given and the reviewing court may make any order it considers 23
appropriate. 24
`(7) However, the orders that may be made under subsection (6) are 25
limited by sections 13, 16 and 17(1A).2 26
`(8) The person or court that made the decision under review must give 27
the reviewing court any documents in the person's or court's possession 28
that may be relevant to the review. 29

`(9) The reviewing court must decide an application under this section as 1
soon as is reasonably practicable. 2

`19C.(1) If a decision is made by a magistrate on a review of a bail 4
decision, the defendant, complainant or prosecutor or a person appearing on 5
behalf of the Crown may apply to the Supreme Court as constituted by a 6

`(2) A complainant, prosecutor or a person appearing on behalf of the 8
Crown who makes an application under subsection (1) must take 9

`19D. A reviewing court that makes an order under section 19B or 19C 20
may issue the following warrants for the purpose of giving effect to the 21
order-- 22
(a) a warrant for the apprehension of the defendant directing that the 23
defendant be brought before a stated court; 24
(b) a warrant for the apprehension of the defendant directing that the 25
defendant be committed to prison in accordance with the warrant. 26

`(2) If a warrant under this or another Act authorises a person's 21
imprisonment for the nonpayment of a penalty, the amount of the penalty 22
recoverable under the warrant is increased by the amount of a charge that 23
may be prescribed under a regulation for issuing the warrant. 24
`(3) The amount of a charge under subsection (2) is to be disregarded in 25
