The Parliament of Queensland enacts-- 1
Clause 1 Short title 2
This Act may be cited as the Fluoridation of Public Water 3
Supplies Amendment Act 2005. 4
Clause 2 Act amended 5
This Act amends the Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies 6
Act 1963. 7
Clause 3 Amendment of s 4 (Addition of fluorine to public water 8
supplies) 9
(1) Section 4(1), after `Subject'-- 10
insert-- 11
`only'. 12
(2) Section 4(1A) to (1C)-- 13
omit. 14
(3) Section 4-- 15
insert-- 16
`(4) To decide whether to add fluorine to any public water supply 17
under its control, a local government may inform itself of the 18
local community's views about adding fluorine to the water 19
supply in any way it considers appropriate, including, for 20
example-- 21
(a) by considering its councillors' views about adding 22
fluorine to the water supply; or 23
(b) by surveying persons who use water from the water 24
supply; or 25

(c) by conducting a poll under the Local Government Act 1
