An Act to consolidate and amend the law for the management and
development of Eagle Farm racecourse, and for related purposes

Eagle Farm Racecourse
The Parliament of Queensland enacts-- 1
PART 1--PRELIMINARY 2

Short
Clause1. This Act may be cited as the Eagle Farm Racecourse Act 1993. 4

Commencement
Clause2. This Act commences on a day to be fixed by proclamation. 6

Definitions
In this Act-- 8
Clause3.
"club" means the race club registered under the Racing and Betting 9
Act 1980 under the name `Queensland Turf Club'; 10
"develop" includes construct, improve and replace; 11
"official name" of the trustees means `Trustees of Eagle Farm 12
Racecourse'; 13
"racing venue land" means the part of the trust land prescribed by 14
regulation to be racing venue land; 15
"trustee" means a person who is appointed under this Act as a trustee; 16
"trust land" means the land prescribed by regulation to be trust land; 17
"trust property" means-- 18
(a) the property held by the trustees on trust under the Eagle Farm 19
Racecourse Act 1955 immediately before the commencement of 20
section 12; and 21
(b) property acquired by the trustees under this Act, but does not 22
include property sold or otherwise disposed of by the trustees 23
under this Act. 24

Appointment
The Governor in Council may appoint a person (other than a 3

Termination

Powers
Clause8.(1) The trustees may, in their official name-- 19
(a) sell or otherwise dispose of trust land; or 20
(b) mortgage trust land; or 21
(c) lease trust land (other than the racing venue land); or 22
(d) accept grants or gifts of property; or 23
(e) acquire or develop land. 24
(2) However, the trustees may exercise a power under subsection (1) 25

(3) The Minister may impose conditions on the agreement. 2

Clause23. This Part expires at the end of the day it commences. 16
