An Act to amend the Corrective Services Act 2000

         The Parliament of Queensland enacts--                                                      1



         1     Short title

             This Act may be cited as the Corrective Services Amendment Act 2002.                   3

         2     Act amended

             This Act amends the Corrective Services Act 2000.                                      5

         3     Amendment of s 57 (Eligibility for WORC and WCC programs)

             Section 57(1)(e)--                                                                     7
             omit, insert--                                                                         8
               `(e) for a WORC program--                                                            9
                    (i)   the prisoner has been convicted of an offence against a                   10
                          provision mentioned in schedule 1;1 or                                    11
                    (ii) the prisoner has been--                                                    12
                          (A) convicted of an offence against the Criminal Code2--                  13
                          ·     section 328A; or                                                    14
                          ·     section 419(1) and the circumstances mentioned in                   15
                                section 419(3)(b)(iii) or (iv) applied; or                          16
                          ·     section 421(2); and                                                 17
                          (B) the conviction is, under the Penalties and Sentences                  18
                              Act 1992, section 161A, a conviction of a serious                     19
                              violent offence.'.                                                    20

         4     Amendment of sch 1 (Ineligibility offences)
