This Act may be cited as the Coroners and Births, Deaths and 4
Marriages Registration Amendment Act 2007. 5

This part amends the Coroners Act 2003. 9

Section 8(3)-- 11

`(da) the death happened within 30 days after the person 13
underwent an elective health procedure; or'. 14

`(1) This section applies if a person dies within 30 days after the 20
person underwent an elective health procedure. 21

`(2) The doctor who was in charge of the health procedure must, as 1
soon as practicable after the doctor becomes aware of the 2
person's death, give a coroner a written notice stating the 3
doctor's opinion as to the cause of the person's death. 4
Maximum penalty--25 penalty units.'. 5
