The Parliament of Queensland enacts-- 1

Clause 1. This Act may be cited as the Anzac Day Amendment Act 1999. 3

`Payments
`13.(1) The State is to pay an annual grant to the Trust. 11
`(2) The grant is payable for each financial year and is to be paid as soon 12
as possible after the end of the relevant financial year. 13
`(3) The first grant under this section is to be made for the financial year 14
19981999 (the "initial grant"). 15
`(4) The initial grant is $795 000. 16
`(5) The amount of each grant paid after the initial grant is to be 17
calculated using the formula-- 18

`(6) In the formula-- 21
"A" is the amount of the grant paid to the Trust for the previous financial 22
year. 23

Anzac Day Amendment
"B" is the CPI number published for the March quarter in the financial year 1
for which the grant is to be paid. 2
"C" is the CPI number published for the March quarter in the financial year 3
preceding the financial year for which the grant is to be paid. 4
`(7) If in a particular financial year, the calculation of the grant would 5
reduce it below $795 000, the grant must be the same as the grant for the 6
previous financial year. 7
`(8) In this section-- 8
"CPI" means the all groups consumer price index for Brisbane published 9
by the Australian statistician.'. 10

`33.(1) To remove doubt, it is declared that the initial grant mentioned in 21
section 13 is payable to the Trust instead of the amount that would have 22
been payable to the Trust under the repealed section for Anzac Day 1999. 23
`(2) This section expires on 31 December 1999. 24

Anzac Day Amendment
`(3) In this section-- 1
"repealed section" means section 15 of the Act in force immediately 2
before the commencement of the Anzac Day Amendment Act 1999.'. 3
