FOR
An Act authorising the Treasurer to pay amounts from the
consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and
parliamentary service for the financial years starting
1 July 2004 and 1 July 2005

The Parliament of Queensland enacts--                                                        1



1       Short title                                                                          2
              This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (Parliament) Act                    3
              2004.1                                                                         4

2       Appropriation for 2004­2005                                                          5
        (1)   The Treasurer is authorised to pay $58 221 000 from the                        6
              consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and                             7
              parliamentary service for the financial year starting                          8
              1 July 2004.                                                                   9
        (2)   The amount mentioned in subsection (1)--                                       10
              (a)    is appropriated for the financial year for the Legislative              11
                     Assembly and parliamentary service for application to                   12
                     its departmental outputs, equity adjustment and                         13
                     administered items as stated in the schedule; and                       14
              (b)    includes amounts for departmental outputs, equity                       15
                     adjustment and administered items delivered by the                      16
                     Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service in the                   17
                     financial year starting 1 July 2003 but for which it has                18
                     not been paid in that financial year.                                   19
        (3)   The amount mentioned in subsection (1) includes the amount                     20
              already authorised by the Appropriation (Parliament) Act                       21
              2003, section 3, to be paid for the financial year starting 1 July             22
              2004.                                                                          23

3       Supply for 2005­2006                                                                 24
              The Treasurer is authorised to pay $29 100 000 from the                        25
              consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and                             26
              parliamentary service for the financial year starting                          27
              1 July 2005.                                                                   28

1    Under the Financial Administration and Audit Act 1977, section 22, words used in
     this Act that are defined in the Financial Administration and Audit Act 1977 have the
     same meaning the words have in that Act, subject to a contrary intention in this Act.
