VOLATILE SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION ACT 2005 (NO 22 OF 2005) - SECT 18
Interests of apprehended person and welfare of children(1) In exercising a power under this Division, a police officer or authorised person must consider the best interests of the apprehended person.
(2) The welfare of any child who may be affected by the exercise of the power is of paramount consideration, whether the child is the apprehended person or is a child whose health and safety may be at risk from the apprehended person.
