CARE AND PROTECTION OF CHILDREN ACT 2007 (NO 37 OF 2007) - SECT 53
Duration of protection(1) The child must be in the CEO's care for a period determined by the CEO that does not exceed 72 hours from the time the CEO takes the child into provisional protection.
(2) Subject to the operation of any other provisions in this Act and any other law of the Territory, the CEO must return the child to a parent of the child by the end of the period.
