ANIMAL PROTECTION ACT 2018 (NO 25 OF 2018) - SECT 47
Variation, suspension or cancellation of registration by CEO(1) The CEO may take action under subsection (2) if satisfied that:
(a) a registration has been obtained improperly; or
(b) a registered person has contravened a condition of the registration; or
(c) a registered person has contravened the scientific use code; or
(d) a registered person has failed to give the CEO an annual report in accordance with section 72 ; or
(e) a registered person has contravened this Act or a corresponding law in any other respect; or
(f) a registered person, or an animal ethics committee used by a registered person, has otherwise acted inappropriately.
(2) The CEO may take any of the following actions:
(a) vary a condition of the registration;
(b) suspend the registration;
(c) cancel the registration.
(3) Before taking action under subsection (2), the CEO must:
(a) notify the registered person of the proposed action and the reasons for it; and
(b) allow the registered person a reasonable opportunity to make representations about the proposed action within a reasonable period specified in the notice.
(4) As soon as practicable after making a decision to take action under subsection (2), the CEO must give a decision notice to the registered person.
