Northern Territory Consolidated Regulations(1) It is not necessary for the Divisional Returning Officer, for the purposes of regulations 13, 14 and 15, to receive all envelopes containing postal ballot-papers or ballot-papers before he or she proceeds to deal with those postal ballot-papers or ballot-papers, as the case may be, in accordance with section 52(1) of the Act.
(2) However, sufficient uncounted postal ballot-papers or ballot-papers must be kept in the ballot-box referred to in regulation 13(4)(e) or 15(4)(d) to ensure that any postal ballot-papers or ballot-papers that are taken from the ballot-box for the purpose of being counted are taken from a number sufficient to prevent the identity of the voters from being disclosed.
