Northern Territory Consolidated Regulations Northern Territory Consolidated Regulations(1) It is not necessary for the Divisional Returning Officer, for the purposes of regulations 13, 14 and 15, to receive all envelopes containing postal ballot-papers or ballot-papers before he or she proceeds to deal with those postal ballot-papers or ballot-papers, as the case may be, in accordance with section 52(1) of the Act.
(2) However, sufficient uncounted postal ballot-papers or ballot-papers must be kept in the ballot-box referred to in regulation 13(4)(e) or 15(4)(d) to ensure that any postal ballot-papers or ballot-papers that are taken from the ballot-box for the purpose of being counted are taken from a number sufficient to prevent the identity of the voters from being disclosed.
