Northern Territory Consolidated Regulations(1) The prescribed fee, under section 167(2) of the Act, for a member of the Police Force appearing before a court as a witness at the hearing of a civil proceeding is:
(a) half of the member's daily salary (as determined from time to time by the Tribunal under Part III of the Act) for each half day or part thereof occupied in travelling from the place where that member is stationed to the Court, attending the court and returning from the court to that place;
(b) the cost of the member's conveyance from the place where that member is stationed to the court and the return to that place; and
(c) for each day of the hearing – the cost of meals; or
(d) for each night that the member is obliged, because of the hearing, to stay away from that member's station – travelling allowance (as determined from time to time under the Act).
(2) A member's salary referred to in subregulation (1) shall be calculated:
(a) for one day – by dividing the member's gross normal fortnightly salary by 10; or
(b) for one half day – by dividing the member's gross normal fortnightly salary by 20.
(3) A member shall not demand from the person calling him as a witness, the payment of overtime.
