Northern Territory Consolidated Regulations Northern Territory Consolidated Regulations(1) The driver of a hire car shall not refuse the use of the hire car by a member acting in the execution of his duty.
(2) A member who hires, in accordance with subregulation (1), a hire car shall not:
(a) be subject to regulation 39(1); and
(b) be liable to pay the driver of the hire car, in addition to the legal fare, more than reasonable compensation for damage or loss of time consequent on the hiring.
