Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) Subject to subsection (2), the Minister may, by notice in the Gazette , declare an authority or body of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory of the Commonwealth to be an approved authority.
(2) The Minister must not declare an authority or body to be an approved authority under subsection (1) unless the authority or body is authorised under a law in force in the Commonwealth or the State or other Territory to conduct inquiries or investigations in relation to conduct that constitutes or is alleged to constitute criminal conduct, misconduct or corruption.
(3) The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette , declare a law of a State or another Territory of the Commonwealth that makes provision for the protection of witnesses or family members to be a complementary witness protection law.
(4) The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette , declare an authority to be an authority to which paragraph (a)(ii) of the definition of witness in section 3(1) refers.
