WATER ACT 1992 - SECT 26

If there is a vacancy in the office of the Chairperson or the Chairperson is or is about to be absent from the Territory or unable to perform the duties of the office, the Minister may appoint a person to act in the office of the Chairperson:

        (a)     in the case of a vacancy – for the remainder of the period of appointment of the Chairperson; or

        (b)     in any other case – for the period during which the Chairperson is absent from the Territory or unable to perform the duties of the office.
