REFERENDUMS ACT 1998 - SECT 5
Resolution of Legislative Assembly(1) The Legislative Assembly may, on the motion of the Attorney-General, resolve that a question be submitted to electors.
(2) The Legislative Assembly may specify the date on which the writ for the referendum is to be issued.
