Northern Territory Consolidated ActsOn and after the date of issue and before the return of the writ for a referendum, the proprietor of every newspaper published or distributed in the Territory must cause the word "advertisement" to be printed as a headline in letters not smaller than 10 point, to each article or paragraph in his or her newspaper containing:
(a) matter intended or calculated to affect the result of a referendum; or
(b) a report of a speech of a person,
the insertion of which is or is to be paid for or for which any reward or compensation or promise is or is to be made.
Maximum penalty: 8 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months.
