Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A member, other than the member referred to in section 6(a), may resign his office by notice in writing signed by him and delivered to the Minister, but such resignation does not have effect until accepted by the Minister.
(2) A member who ceases to hold the qualifications necessary for his appointment shall be deemed to have resigned, and his resignation shall be deemed to have been accepted by the Minister, on the date upon which he ceased to hold those qualifications.
