Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts19. Aboriginal Community Police and auxiliaries
(1) The Commissioner may, in writing, appoint a person to be a member of the Police Force as an Aboriginal Community Police officer or Police auxiliary.
(2) An appointment under subsection (1) may also be made by a member of the Police Force authorised by the Commissioner to make such an appointment.
(3) Subject to the terms and conditions specified in the person's instrument of appointment, an Aboriginal Community Police officer or Police auxiliary has the same powers, privileges, duties and obligations as other members of the Police Force.
