Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) Subject to subsection (2), a Magistrate appointed under section 4(3) is entitled to receive salary, allowances and other benefits as determined by the Remuneration Tribunal under section 7 of the Assembly Members and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Other Entitlements) Act .
(2) The salary, allowances and other benefits to which a Magistrate is entitled under subsection (1) must not be altered to the Magistrate's detriment during his or her term of office.
(3) Salaries, allowances and other benefits payable under subsection (1) are to be paid from the public moneys of the Territory and the appropriation for that purpose is established or increased to the extent necessary.
