Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) The Minister shall appoint a person to be the Director of Legal Aid who shall be charged with carrying out the decisions of the Commission and the general administration of the service of the Commission, including the administration of staff employment.
(2) The Director shall:
(a) be paid such salary, allowances and expenses; and
(b) hold office on such terms and conditions,
as the Minister, with the advice of the Commissioner, as defined in the Public Sector Employment and Management Act , determines.
(3) The Director, if he or she does not hold a current unrestricted practising certificate under the Legal Profession Act , shall be deemed to hold such a certificate.
(4) The salary, allowances and expenses payable to the Director are to be paid out of the Legal Aid Fund.
