Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) If in any trial of a civil issue, the Court is satisfied that by reason of illness or a matter of special urgency or importance a juror should be excused from further attendance, the Court may order that the juror be excused from further attendance during the trial and such further period as the Court specifies.
(2) Where a juror dies or is excused under subsection (1), the Court may, if the number of jurors is reduced to not less than 3, order that the trial shall proceed with the reduced number of jurors and the decision of those jurors shall be taken and entered as the verdict of all.
