JUSTICES ACT - SECT 33B

Court may order commitment in default

If a person enters into a recognisance as a principal, the Court of Summary Jurisdiction constituted by a magistrate sitting alone may order that, if the recognisance is forfeited, the person is to be committed by warrant to a gaol for a specified period in default of payment.
