Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) Subject to this Act, the Court constituted by a Magistrate has jurisdiction to hear and determine in a summary manner a charge in respect of an offence against section 210, 219, 221, 224, 227 or 229 of the Criminal Code, or an attempt to commit such an offence, where the value of the property involved does not exceed $5,000.
(2) The jurisdiction conferred by subsection (1) may be exercised whether or not the defendant consents to its exercise.
