Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) An Act assented to by the Administrator commences on the day on which that assent is declared.
(2) An Act reserved for the signification of the pleasure of the Governor-General commences on the day upon which notification that the Governor-General has assented to the Act is published in the Gazette .
(3) Notwithstanding that an Act is expressed to commence:
(a) on a particular day or date or progressively on a number of different days or dates;
(b) on a day or date to be fixed by a statutory instrument; or
(c) on the happening of a particular event,
its long title and short title, and the provision so providing for the commencement of the Act, commences on the day on which the Administrator's assent to the Act is declared or, where the Act is reserved for the signification of the pleasure of the Governor-General, on the day on which the notification that the Governor-General has assented to the Act is published in the Gazette .
