Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated ActsEvery Act shall be read and construed subject to the Northern Territory (Self-Government) Act 1978 of the Commonwealth and any other Act of the Commonwealth relating to the power of the Legislative Assembly to make laws in respect of particular matters, and so as not to exceed the legislative power of the Legislative Assembly, to the intent that where any Act would, but for this section, have been construed as being in excess of that power it shall nevertheless be a valid Act to the extent to which it is not in excess of that power.
