Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A scrutineer representing a candidate during the polling for an election is entitled to be present at a polling place, and to enter or leave a polling place, when voters are allowed to vote at the place.
(2) However, only one scrutineer representing a particular candidate may enter or remain at a particular polling place at any time while voters are allowed to vote at the place.
(3) A scrutineer representing a candidate during the scrutiny for an election is entitled to be present at a scrutiny centre, and to enter or leave a scrutiny centre, during the conduct of the scrutiny at the centre.
(4) However, only one scrutineer representing a particular candidate may enter or remain at a particular scrutiny centre at any time while the scrutiny is conducted at the centre unless there is more than one counting table for the division at the scrutiny centre in which case the candidate is entitled to be represented by a scrutineer at each table.
(5) A scrutineer who contravenes this section is no longer entitled to be at the polling place or scrutiny centre.
